Different volleys for different situations

So many times when we hit a volley, we don't have a clear picture what type of shot we would like to deliver. One way to determine our volley can be based on the speed of the incoming ball.

1. When you receive a "normal" ground stroke, the speed of the incoming ball is around 5/10 - 7/10 range just REFLECT - Send the ball back with the same speed, looking for depth and open space.

Technique: Use soft grip when preparing the racket and just squeeze the handle at contact.

2. When you receive a fast ground stroke, the speed of the incoming ball is around 8/10 - 10/10 range: SOFTEN - Send a slower ball back then the incoming one, looking for taking the pace off or hitting drop volley.

Technique: Catch the ball as you were catching an egg or a little bird. Fingers soft all the time.

3.When you receive a slow, high floating ground stroke, the speed of the incoming ball is around 2/10 - 4/10 range: ATTACK - Send a fast one, add speed to the ball to take your opponent's time away.

Technique: Prepare the racket in front (no big take back) attack the slow ball with your feet instead of swinging big. Keep going forward with the ball after contact.
